About This Spot

Stepping into Big Bad Breakfast in Homewood feels like being welcomed into a bustling neighborhood gem where mornings stretch a little longer and the simple joys of breakfast take center stage. The space hums with a lively yet comfortable energy—plates clatter softly, the scent of fresh-brewed coffee mingles with warm biscuits, and sunlight pours through the windows, casting a cozy glow over diners engaged in quiet conversation and animated smiles.

The pace here is unhurried but vibrant, as if everyone has made room in their day to savor more than just a meal. It’s the kind of place where the rhythm of weekend brunch is punctuated by the occasional toast from a breakfast margarita or the rich aroma of spicy bacon sizzling nearby. Whether you're gathered around a table with family or catching up with friends, the lively atmosphere invites you to settle in and linger.

Behind the welcoming vibe is a menu that feels like a heartfelt nod to Southern morning traditions—with a twist. The kitchen celebrates savory and sweet in equal measure, pairing classic staples with fresh ingredients and thoughtful touches. You might find yourself drawn to a perfectly crisp chicken and waffle, the indulgent comfort of shrimp and grits, or a generous biscuit sandwich that’s as hearty as it is satisfying. Cocktails like fresh-squeezed mimosas and the house-made Bloody Mary offer a bright counterpoint, crafting an experience that’s both familiar and delightfully unexpected.

The staff’s attentive care and the steady hum of contented diners make this spot feel less like a restaurant and more like a shared community table. It’s a place where the sounds, smells, and smiles encourage genuine connection—a reminder that sometimes, breakfast can be the heart of the day’s most memorable moments.

Allways super awesome food, and it was a great view from the 2nd floor. I got the "old school wrap" while my friend got something with poached eggs. The food came fairly quickly, and was steaming hot! It's pretty expensive, but overall worth it (especially in this economy).

This place is amazing! The food was superb, the atmosphere is nice - music was loud enough to hear but quiet enough to have a conversation. Our waitress was wonderful, attentive, and polite. Definitely will be going back and 110% recommend this place. You will need to budget wait time when planning a visit here especially on the weekend. Well worth the wait!

Food was great. Service was great. Atmosphere was ok. It was crowded but we were seated quickly.only problem i had was that they ran out of potatoes. Other than that great restaurant

Delicious! Two teenagers and I give it five stars on our foodie list. Growing up in a place like Savannah Ga with so many good restaurants, I am not a picky eater, but a picky foodie. If it is not good I will say so. The atmosphere was great and service was wonderful. Definitely going to be on our list when we drive home to see family in Georgia.

Although the wait was a bit long the savory meal was worth it. I had the Cathead Chicken biscuit, my lovely Bama Beauty had Huevos Rancheros in grits. Our drinks were a margarita and a screwdriver which both tasted very well.

10 our of 10. We hit this place at THE best time bc when we left the line was down the side of the road - people waiting in the rain!! The table ordered a wrap, a sandwich, an omelette and just a scrambled egg platter. Everything was excellent. The potato cakes we delicious anddddd the biscuits were INCREDIBLE. I took the biscuit home and ate it later and you could just taste the scrumptious butter - even cold. Could not recommend enough - just do yourself a favor and GO EARLY. Food arrived timely and the staff was very kind.

Great biscuits and coffee! Tried the oyster scramble and was well seasoned with a nice amount of heat. Diverse menu would definitely try again if one is around.
